The Texas Center for Disability Studies (TCDS) held the Supporting Every Step Children's Developmental Screening and Resource Fair at the Commons Conference Center at the JJ Pickle Research Campus on October 18th, 2025.

TCDS Faculty, Staff and trainees attended the 2024 AUCD Conference in Washington D.C.

The Texas Center for Disability Studies (TCDS) held the Supporting Every Step Children's Developmental Screening and Resource Fair at the Commons Conference Center at the JJ Pickle Research Campus on October 19th, 2024.

TCDS is developing a research advisory committee of community members. We are especially looking for family members of autistic individuals and individuals with IDD to apply to join W.I.T.H. (Weaving Inclusion Together in research Hub).

The TCDS team attended the conference on November 5, 2023 to Wednesday, November 8, 2023 in Washington, D.C.

Sandra Vanegas, Ph.D., and Sandy Magaña, Ph.D., MSW, will be co-principal investigators for the UT-Austin branch of the Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring Network (ADDM).

Home and community based services (HCBS) provide opportunities for Medicaid beneficiaries to receive services in their own home or community rather than institutions or other isolated settings. These programs serve a variety of targeted populations groups, such as people with intellectual or developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, and/or mental illnesses.
