The Brazos Valley Disability Conference and Resource Fair (formally, the “Success Conference”) is a collaborative between local family groups who support families with children with disabilities, organizations and agencies that serve them, school districts, rehabilitative care, and the Center on Disability and Development (CDD) at Texas A&M University.

Social media has an enormous reach and influence in society, including individuals seeking mental health advice. This presentation will provide an overview of the challenges and possible benefits of young adults using social media to self-diagnose autism. The speaker, Elisabeth Sheridan, Ph.D., is the Director of the Clinical Core at the A.J. Drexel Autism Institute and an Associate Professor at Drexel University.

This webinar will discuss how to identify children appropriate for a genetics evaluation and how to refer them, describe the timeline and potential outcomes of a genetics evaluation, and preparation for management and care of a child with a genetic diagnosis.
