Dr. Weiwen Zeng is an Assistant Professor at the University of Texas at Arlington School of Social Work. He graduated with his PhD in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin in 2023 and an MSSW from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2014.
His research interests are grounded in his practice experience as a clinical social worker. For over four years, he worked in direct practice with individuals with autism, developmental, and other profound disabilities in medical and residential care settings. Informed by his clinical experience, his research focuses on using community-engaged methods to identify underlying mechanisms that drive salient health challenges/disparities faced by diverse families of individuals with disabilities across the lifespan and, subsequently, to develop innovative and evidence-based intervention programs that address these challenges/disparities.
