Tais (Tai) Gomez is a recent graduate from Texas State University, where Tais received a Bachelor of Social Work with a minor in Sociology as a first-generation college student. Tais is a cat parent, second-generation Mexican- American, and proud Chicana/x/e who is always looking for family in different places & an opportunity to serve the community.
Throughout undergrad, Tais has explored the broad extensions of social work through service in public housing, youth wellbeing and teaching/mentorship, legal system reform, immigrant rights, and disability rights. Tais is passionate about community organizing and giving communities the tools to connect with each other to create networks of care and build resiliency.
In their free time, Tai enjoys spending time with friends and family and tapping into creativity through art, music, and movement, taking any chance they get to spend time with nature.
