Kayla is a third-year doctoral student studying school psychology at Baylor University. Originally hailing from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Kayla obtained her bachelor’s degree in psychology in at Florida State University in 2019, and moved to Waco, TX to pursue her PhD in 2021. Since her transition to Waco, Kayla has discovered her love for working with and advocating for neurodiverse individuals. 

Her current research interests include autism and related developmental disabilities, anxiety, and social priming. Kayla is proud to be involved in several research teams advocating for the fair and accurate assessment of culturally and linguistically diverse children.
