Research Affiliate - Postdoctoral
Dr. Jinlan Zhu is a postdoctoral researcher at the Texas Center for Disability Studies (TCDS) within the Steve Hicks School of Social Work at The University of Texas at Austin. She received a special education from South China Normal University and her Ph.D. the University of Oregon. Dr. Zhu is currently part of the Advanced Rehabilitation Research Training (AART) program, which focuses on research in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) in culturally diverse communities.
Dr. Zhu’s research focus on: a) the investigating racial and ethnic disparities among children with autism and other developmental disabilities and developing and adapting evidence-based practices for underserved communities, such as culturally tailored psychoeducation and behavioral parent training; (2) developing effective behavior analytic assessment practices and interventions addressing the behavioral and educational needs of individual with autism and other developmental disabilities in school, home and community settings; and (3) (c) further developing skills in technical assistance to public schools in adoption, implementation (including behavioral skills training of natural change agents), and empirical evaluation of evidence-based intervention to address challenging behavior. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, reading and road trips to explore new places with her husband.
