Special Education
Jane Y. Jeong (She/Her) is a third-year PhD student in the Department of Special Education at the University of Texas at Austin. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Child Development and her Master's degree in Special Education from California State University Fullerton. She holds a K-12 & Adult transition program California special education teaching credential, specializing in working with individuals with mild to moderate support needs. Before pursuing her PhD at UT, Jane taught K-5 students as a special education teacher in Southern California.
Jane's research centers on families of individuals with disabilities, with a particular focus on those at the intersection of systemic oppression. Her work specifically investigates the experiences of neurotypical siblings of individuals with disabilities from historically marginalized communities. She is currently a research assistant for project EARLY and at the Texas Institute for Excellence in Mental Health.
