Discipline: Nursing
Irina Haack (she/hers) is a second-year psychiatric nurse practitioner student in the AE-MSN Program at the University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing. She is a registered nurse and currently works at a psychiatric inpatient hospital in the Austin area. Before going to nursing school, she had a diverse career working in mental health as both as case manager and peer advocate in multiple settings.
Her career in mental health inspired her to join the ACT LEND Program, as she recognized the many unmet needs of individuals with developmental disabilities. Her goal is to continue working in mental health while helping meet the needs of these individuals, as well as providing education to others about developmental disabilities using the knowledge gained during ACT LEND.
