Genetics and Care of Children with Metabolic Disorders

The genetics webinar series is presented in partnership with the University of Texas Center for Disability Studies, Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children's Hospital and the Department of State Health Services. 

In this webinar, Dr. Burrage will describe two metabolic genetic disorders detected by newborn screening, discuss the multidisciplinary approach to managing care for affected children, and discuss a case example.  Ms. Buckner’s presentation will consider the differences between what's “important for” a person and what's “important to” the person as described by The Learning Community for Person Centered Practices.
