"Bottom Dollars" Film Screening and "Living on a Dime" Investigative Report Release

Do we want all people to have the chance to get a job for fair pay in their own communities, or do we want some people to be separated, exploited, and robbed of their chance to seize the American dream for themselves?

The Texas Center for Disability Studies at the University of Texas Austin and Disability Rights Texas (DRTx) invite you to an exclusive screening in Austin onOctober 25, 2016, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm of the new documentary film, "Bottom Dollars," and a media event announcing the release of a DRTx investigative report about sheltered workshops in Texas, "Living on a Dime and Left Behind."

The movie, produced by Rooted in Rights, highlights how thousands of Americans are being paid LESS than minimum wage - as little as a few cents per hour in some cases - because of a Depression-era labor law that makes it legal.

The DRTx "Living on a Dime and Left Behind" report focuses on workers with disabilities in Texas who are harmed by this law. Seating is limited. Tickets are FREE and RSVP is required by October 19.
