In this webinar, we will cover how technology can assist individuals with hearing loss in different settings such as the work place, social environments, and at home. We will review devices and how they can be a solution to listening barriers when used along with communication strategies, and we will discuss what communication challenges look like with or without technology. Hearing loss looks different for every person, and one size does not fit all when it comes to communication strategies. We will explore options that may fit you as an individual with hearing loss, or someone you know that has hearing loss who is looking for support and solutions.
About the presenter: Olivia Rains, Communication Access Specialist, is an individual with hearing loss. Her work experience began as a Hearing Loss Resource Specialist with ODHHS. Her journey then took her to a nonprofit state program, Texas Technology Access Program, serving all disabilities with outreach and assistive technology. Her skills and background include training, assistive technology demonstrations and assessments, advocacy, presentations, networking, outreach, marketing and more.
