Stephanie is a second-year graduate student in the Speech-Language Pathology program at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). She earned her bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation Sciences with a concentration in Speech and Language from UTEP. As a bilingual English and Spanish speaker, Stephanie is passionate about providing culturally and linguistically responsive services to diverse populations.
Stephanie has experience in research focused on language and fluency in bilingual children, which has strengthened her interest in understanding the intersection of language development, bilingualism, and communication. Her experiences working with children with neurodiverse identities have also played an important role in shaping her professional goals and desire to work in early intervention.
Her professional interests include early intervention, neurodiversity-affirming practices, bilingual speech-language development, and supporting children and families through accessible and individualized communication services. Stephanie hopes to specialize in working with young children and their families, with an emphasis on empowering caregivers and supporting meaningful communication across everyday environments.
