Sal Silinonte

Self-Advocate and Family Member

Sal studied psychology at Stony Brook University and earned his master's in behavior analysis from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in the hopes of being able to advocate for his community from within the bounds of therapy. Shortly after becoming a therapist, he became heavily involved with the Autism Society of Texas, as well as taking on public speaking opportunities in and around Austin to further advocate for the Autistic community. The pandemic led to a change and he is currently working as the discipline coordinator/trainer of self-advocacy for the ACT LEND program at UT Austin while also lending his experience to any advisory board or research group which will have him.
