Risha Rao is an undergraduate student at the University of Texas at Austin majoring in Public Health on the pre-med track. She is passionate about advancing inclusivity in healthcare, particularly advocating for individuals with autism and addressing language barriers that impact patient outcomes and satisfaction.
At UT Austin, Risha founded Interpreters in Healthcare, a student organization that provides Spanish interpreting support in clinical settings. She has also participated in two Global Medical Training trips, serving as a trip leader on one. Her commitment to community-based efforts that advance accessibility in care, along with her personal experiences supporting a family member with autism in navigating the healthcare system, fuels her enthusiasm for becoming an ACT LEND fellow.
Outside of academics, Risha competes on the Texas Club Tennis team, enjoys traveling, and values time with family and friends.
