Medicine • Self-Advocate

Catherine is a third-year medical student at Dell Medical School. Before medical school, she earned her undergraduate degree in Neuroscience with a minor in Global Health from Trinity University in San Antonio, then spent a year working as a patient care technician at the Children's Memorial Hermann Heart Center in Houston. This experience fostered her passion for medicine by allowing her to build close relationships with patients and families and witness firsthand the impact of compassionate, team-based pediatric care. As someone also on the autism spectrum, Catherine is deeply committed to inclusive, patient-centered care for neurodiverse children and their families and is excited to pursue a career in pediatrics.

Alongside her medical studies, Catherine is pursuing a Master of Public Health with a focus on global and community health. Her long-term interests include pediatric care, neurodevelopmental disabilities, mental health, health equity, and leveraging both lived and clinical experience to improve systems of care.
