Siblings of people with disabilities have different needs across the lifespan. As siblings grow, their relationship and roles with their brother or sister do as well. At all ages, siblings need information, peer support, and an opportunity to discuss the future. Join us for this webinar, presented by the Sibling Leadership Network, that will explore the resources, research, needs, and supports that are relevant to adult siblings of people with disabilities. Topics will include future planning, sibling support, and advocacy.
The target audience for this webinar will be adult siblings of people with disabilities. However, parents, self advocates, professionals in the disability field, relatives, and sib-in-laws are welcome to join and learn more about the experiences, needs, and resources for siblings of people with disabilities.
This webinar will be led by Katie Arnold and Amy Halm of the Sibling Leadership Network. Through a grant from the Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities, the Sibling Leadership Network is partnering with Texas Center for Disability Studies at the University of Texas at Austin to expand support for siblings of people with disabilities in Texas. The Texas Sibling Network is creating a community for adult siblings of people with disabilities by siblings of people with disabilities. More information about the growing resources provided by the project will be shared in the webinar.
