In this workshop you will:
• Learn about state and federal transition policies according to IDEA
• Understand the basic components of transition planning
• Learn how you can support the development of your child’s post-
secondary goals
• Learn about career exploration activities, employment soft skills,
adult services, and community resources that may be helpful for
your child
• Hear an example of successful competitive integrated employment,
along with practical tips/strategies for career development for youth
with autism

What: This workshop is part of a study funded by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board to provide training to parents of children with autism about transition to adulthood planning.
Eligibility: Any parent or caregiver of a child with autism (or other disability)
between the ages of 3-22 who lives in the state of Texas.
