The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, in partnership with the Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities and the Texas Center for Disabilities at The University of Texas in Austin, will host a webinar series on health care transitioning from pediatric care to adolescent care to adult care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This three-part series will provide self-advocates, parents, caregivers, and family members with resources and information on health care transition planning and readiness, health care preparation strategies, person-centered thinking, family and caregiver engagement, supported decision-making, and differences within pediatric and adult health care systems. Each webinar will be led by Laura Buckner, M.Ed., LPC, of The Center on Disability Studies at the University of Texas.
