Elisa Haydee Cortez graduated in May 2017 with a Masters in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Texas at El Paso. She intends on completing her LPC (Licensed Practicing Counselor) to do private practice serving the disability population. Since being diagnosed with Lupus in 2004, she has been motivated to advocate and empower those with disabilities. Her persistence and passion for helping others has led her to become very active in the disability community for the past several years through various organizations. Her hometown of El Paso, Texas has a great need for support and advocacy in the disability community and she intends on making a difference.
